Nato Vachnadze Award

Nato Vachnadze is one of the most significant figures in the history of Georgian arts.

She was a true trailblazer who worked through challenging times. She helped shape screen acting in Georgia and created space that future generations of artists still stand on today.

From a very young age, she worked, created, and supported not only herself but the people around her. Her story is one of resilience, independence, and quiet strength – the kind that challenges expectations and refuses to be limited.

Her legacy isn’t just artistic – it’s deeply connected to women claiming their voice, their presence, and their power to shape their own paths.

That’s why, each year on her birthday, we award a special prize in her name to women who are making meaningful contributions in their fields – women who are opening doors, pushing boundaries, and shaping what comes next.

Recipients:
2024 Mzekala Shanidze for outstanding contribution to Georgian cultural heritage and Georgian Language
2025 Nino Kharatishvili for outstanding contribution to literature and theatre.
